Artists Director: Paige Levine-Brennan

Putnam Dance Center is proud to include the AMERICAN BALLET THETRE® National Training Curriculum, a breakthrough 8 level program that combines high quality artistic training with the basics of dancer health and child development. The ABT® National

Training Curriculum consists of a comprehensive set of age-appropriate, outcome-based guidelines to provide the highest quality training to dance students of all ages and skill levels. Primary through Level 3 will be taught by ABT® Certified Teacher, Paige Levine,

who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Primary through level 3 of the ABT® National Training Curriculum.

Paige, a native of Houston, Texas, has lived in New York since 1994. She began studying dance at the Houston Ballet. Upon moving to New York City, she studied George Balanchine’s Technique under Carol Sumner, a former soloist with the New York City Ballet. In addition to ballet, Paige has also extensively studied the Gyrotonic Expansion System; traveling to Florence, Italy for workshops exploring the biomechanics of the body. The Gyrotonic System emphasizes flexibility, control and resistance while using a full range of motion and articulation of the joints. Paige majored in Dance

and Theatre and recieved her Bachelor of Arts degree from Manhattanville College. She was accepted into the Master’s program in Dance Education at New York University’s Steinhardt Music and Performing Arts Professions. This is where she became introduced to developmental teaching and designed an age appropriate curriculum for her students. During colliegiate years, Paige desired to establish a school on the principles of education, entertainment and excellence. Soon after Putnam Dance Center was founded in 2006.

Paige is the Artistic Director of Putnam Dance Center, an ABT® Affiliate Teacher, and Project Plie Partner Teacher with American Ballet Theatre. She is also a Member of International Dance Council CID, the official world-wide organization for dance. She taught in Bedford at the Rippowam Cisqua School and "Groove with Me" a non-profit organization in Spanish Harlem.

Paige has developed a unique pedagogy by combining her knowledge of the human body and movement studies with playful techniques designed to cultivate confidence
and freedom of expression. Her classes are conducted to specifically encourage

the student's individual creativity, while following a classical ballet syllabus. Additionally, Paige is an ABT® Certified Teacher who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Primary through Level 3 of the ABT® National Training Curriculum.
